I was in Paris last August. Walking to the Eiffel Tower I saw a beautiful bride in an amazing wedding dress. I couldn’t help myself and took some photos. I wish this anonymous bride and her fiance all the happiness in the world.

Pilot Officer (PO) Robert Lindsay Wallace of Haberfield, NSW, was married to WAAF Corporal Alice Patricia Williams of London, at Christ Church, Woburn Square. PO Wallace, an airgunner, met his wife who is a WAAF wireless operator whilst stationed in Norfolk, England. They are cutting the wedding cake at the wedding reception.

The marriage of Mr Benjamin Moodie and Miss Jean Vass took place on Wednesday the 28th of January, 1920 at 3 o’clock in the Menzies Rooms, Musselburgh.

This sepia photograph shows Mr Benjamin Moodie and his bride Miss Jean Vass, together with their attendants on the occasion of their wedding.

Nowadays, many couples choose to get married on a Saturday, in order to enjoy a full day of celebration and to ensure that their friends and family can enjoy the day with them. During the first three quarters of the 20th century it was more common to get married on a weekday.

In 2003 my cousin Michele placed enough confidence in me to have me shoot my (and her!) first wedding.

The first wedding shoot was a little intense at first. My hands started to shake as the bride walked down the aisle, but I took a couple of deep breaths and all was well.

Although the wedding shots are not as technically proficient as I would like, there are several shots from this wedding that are still among my all time wedding favorites.
