IMG_7241 – Chinese brides at Chenonceau Chateau

While we were wandering around the Chenonceau Chateau we stumbled upon a heap of Chinese couples in a group wedding. One of the unusual things about it is they didn’t have many photographers, so they groom would take a photo of there bride and visa-versa. So they would have very few photos of them as a couple.
Bride and Groom and Photographer… Day 168, 365/2010, 17/6/2010

Day two in london, having finished speaking at Etail 2010, i found myself with several hours to kill on south bank london, down by the london eye. So i wandered up and down, taking Jay Maisels advice in to heart, walking slowly, enjoying what was happening. I had been there a couple of hours when another of Jays Quotes came to be true..
"if you wait, life comes to you"
In possibly one of the most public places i have been to in years, a bride and groom and photographer show up for some shots. They seemed to be good sports for him, certainly they had to get used to a zillion tourists taking shots too. The irony was the only person amongst them who didn’t like being photographed was… the photographer, the bride and groom found it funny how me and the guy passing from national geographic kept pointing the cameras at the photographer.
I havent shot a wedding, don’t know if i ever will, it looks a combination of fun and terror and pressure, hats off to this guy for shooting this style. Not sure if the lighting is going to be kind, real harsh light, and no assistant to help him… anyway, thanks for him and his couple making my afternoon more interesting.

Here are some of the other photos taken of Crystal during our hour+ shoot at the beach in Ventura.
Virtually no photoshopping done with these. Shooting in manual was a bit of a hurdle, but I love the results
